This is a brand new piece of work (being shown at THE DUKES) made with an international cast at the National Theatre of Greece last summer. Featuring the company's trademark explorations with projected film and live performance, this piece is a visual and narrative treat.
Part musical, part dream play, Tales from the Bar of Lost Souls is a magical realist story of forbidden love, criminality and the possibility of finding redemption in the unlikeliest of places. Exquisitely designed by Laura Hopkins, the audience watch the action through the bar's windows, as a carnival of unsavoury characters reveal themselves and haunting tales of murder, love and forgiveness unfold.
Tales from the Bar of Lost Souls is a new theatre show and workshop project made as a collaboration between The National Theatre of Greece, Cyprus Theatre Organisation and imitating the dog as part of the British Council Creative Collaboration programme.

imitating the dog are a Leeds/Lancaster based company directed by Andrew Quick from Lancaster University. The company experiment with the role of story-telling and narrative in contemporary theatre. They make innovative use of digital media, design and physical performance to create off-kilter worlds in which to explore public and private obsessions.
