Gorge-Arse Theatre : Hideously Self-Indulgent! (We're losing Ourselves!)

Through blokes in frocks and women in suits, semi-nudity, loud club music, a live pianist and singers, repetitive movement, puerile humour, screwed up language; a whole mess up of wigs, joke shop masks bizarre outfits and high heels; parodies of and homages to Shirley Bassey, Michael Jackson and Russell Brand; and featuring a very sexy guy in a pair of Speedos, this performance intends to explore the possible tensions between the out-there, public and personal/private moments of self-indulgence.

"Now is the time to be afraid of the dark..." Richard Mayhew is a normal businessman living in normal London with a normal fiance, Jessica. That is, until he helps a wounded young woman called Door, and his whole life is turned upside down. Dragged down into the confusing parallel city known as London Below, encountering strange places and stranger people, Richard goes on a quest to help Door, along with the charismatic Marquis de Carabas and the mysterious Hunter, and hopefully find his way home.
